Tina Turner sadly Passes Away

images.jpeg-19.jpg
Sad news over night with Legend and Icon Tina Turner, whose soul classics and pop hits like The Best and What's Love Got to Do With It made her a superstar, has died at the age of 83.

Her song Nutbush City Limits is about where she grew up. Nutbush Tennessee

She went on to perform in blues clubs and when Ike Turner spotted her , thats when she just became better and better and the rest is history.

She married Ike Turner but unfortunately it was an abusive marriage but being the strong woman she was she left him and fir good.

the 1980s, Turner launched "one of the greatest comebacks in music history". Her 1984 multi-platinum album Private Dancer contained the hit song "What's Love Got to Do with It", which won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and became her first and only number one song on the Billboard Hot 100.
Aged 44, she was the oldest female solo artist to top the Hot 100. Her chart success continued with "Better Be Good to Me", "Private Dancer", "We Don't Need Another Hero "Typical Male", "The Best", "I Don't Wanna Fight" and "GoldenEye". During her Break Every Rule World Tour in 1988, she set a then-Guinness World Record for the largest paying audience (180,000) for a solo performer.

Turner also acted in the films Tommy (1975) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985). In 1993, What's Love Got to Do with It, a biographical film adapted from her autobiography I, Tina: My Life Story, was released. In 2009, Turner retired after completing her Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour, which is the 15th highest-grossing tour of the 2000s. In 2018, she became the subject of the jukebox musical Tina.

Later in life she found her soul mate and spent the last 10 years in Switzerland

One of the best ever female singer ever.

RIP Tina Turner and Thank you for all the music 🎶 😪

Don McLeans song

The Day The Music Died is a perfect song choice for today

Long long time ago, I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
… But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
… I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died
… So bye-bye, Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee
But the levee was dry
Them good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singing, "This'll be the day that I die"
This will be the day that I die
… Did you write the Book of Love?
And do you have faith in God above?
If the Bible tells you so
Do you believe in rock 'n' roll?
Can music save your mortal soul?
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?
… Well I know that you're in love with him
'Cause I saw you dancing in the gym
You both kicked off your shoes
Then I dig those rhythm and blues
… I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died
