TikToker advises fellow punters not to make this "rookie mistake"

A lucky punter from Perth learned a hard lesson after his mate pranked him and took all his winnings – which amounted to nearly $700.
Now, he's sworn never to repeat the same "rookie mistake" again.
Brad Higgins, a construction and landscape company owner from Perth, posted a video on his TikTok account telling the story of how he pranked his mate out of the lad's winnings.
Last week, Brad's friend made the rookie error of sharing a photo of his bet slip, which included the barcode. This prompted the mischievous Mr Higgins to play a prank on his mate, showing him how easy it was for someone to head down to the local TAB to cash in the unclaimed windfall himself.

"So my friend sent me his bet slip last night but he left the barcode on it," Brad said in the video.
Then he advised the viewers not to make this rookie mistake: "Do not leave the barcode on because someone can cash it in."
The next footage on the clip is Brad processing the ticket at the TAB machine before walking out with wads of cash in his hand.
Fortunately for his naive friend, Brad later gave him his money back.
"If I wasn’t his friend, I could rob (him). But I’m his friend so I’ll give it to him today at the footy."
Bit of warning before you watch the clip, folks – the video contains strong language which may be unsuitable to some audiences.
Commenters on Brad's video pointed out that these kinds of incidents are a good reminder for TAB and similar betting systems to upgrade their security, claiming it could happen to anyone.
“Tab and so on need to change their system so that can’t happen and people need to learn not to overshare,” one man wrote.
Other users also mentioned their friends had been similarly cheated out of their winnings, with amounts totalling up to a whopping $25,000!
Take this as an early warning, members!
Never take a photo and share your bet slips on social media, or else someone might just swoop in and take your winnings from you…
