This whipped feta dip with honey and pistachios will change the way you think about dips forever

If you're anything like us here at the SDC, then you love dips. There's nothing quite like a big bowl of dip and a plate of crackers or bread to tide you over until dinner time (or to snack on while watching your favourite TV show). They're the perfect snack food – shareable, delicious, and usually pretty healthy too.

Luckily for us, there are now so many kinds of dips to choose from! But we have to say that this latest recipe from Aussie cook Nagi Maehashi might just be our new favourite.

Move over, butter boards – there's a new, healthier (and tastier) snack in town!

Nagi Maehashi, better known as RecipeTin Eats, has wowed the internet with her indulgent whipped feta dip topped with honey and pistachios. And we have to say, it looks delicious!

‘Whipped feta dip, the perfect lazy Sunday afternoon snack with a cold glass of vino,’ Nagi captioned her post.

The simple recipe is sending her fans wild too, with many branding the dish ‘a darn sight tastier than a butter board’. We have to agree!

To make the dip, she simply mixed Danish feta, cream cheese, finely minced garlic, lemon zest, and extra virgin olive oil in a blender before smoothing it out onto a shallow bowl plate.

Next, the food blogger drizzled it with honey, olive oil, pistachios, more lemon zest, and parsley, and served it with lightly toasted bread on the side.

Nagi’s followers loved the easy-to-make recipe. One woman commented on her post: ‘I don’t know how Instagram read my mind. I was about to search for some whipped feta and your recipe popped up!’

Another said that they had finally bought Nagi’s book, and remarked that it was the ‘best thing ever’. Nagi’s book, RecipeTin Eats: Dinner, was recently released and is full of great recipes you can try out any time.

If you’re keen on trying out the scrumptious feta dip yourself, here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:
  • 400g danish feta
  • 125g cream cheese
  • 1/4 tsp garlic finely minced or garlic press
  • Lemon zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
Don’t forget the possible toppings! You can include honey, olive oil, pistachios, lemon zest, parsley or coriander/cilantro, or even chilli flakes.

As for the method to make the dip, Nagi suggests:

1. Blend the ingredients until smooth, then pour the olive oil in as you’re blending.

2. Once that’s done, spread the dip on a bowl plate, make swirls/designs on the dip then add your desired toppings generously.

3. Serve with lightly toasted bread, flatbread, or crackers. Enjoy!
