This shopper's chocolate order came with a HILARIOUS surprise from a Coles employee

We often joke about the things we would do if we worked in customer service, and how we would sometimes take the opportunity to play a harmless trick or two on unsuspecting customers.

Of course, most of us are just joking – but every now and then, someone takes it upon themselves to actually follow through with these comical ideas.

Rachael Hallett, founder of Mums Who Facebook groups, was the recipient of one such trick when she received her latest Coles online order.

Sharing a picture of her grocery bag filled with sugary treats and a tube of toothpaste on the Facebook group Mums Who Save and Budget, Rachael said she had a 'great chuckle' about the inventive way her groceries had been packed – even though she suspects the packer may have been trying to send her a message about oral health.

The Melbourne mum-of-two said she had placed an online order for some toiletry items as well as chocolate bars.

Then, when she opened the bag containing her chocolate bars, she saw a box of toothpaste rather conveniently placed at the centre — quite an effective reminder on keeping teeth healthy, if we may say so!

'My Coles packer thinks they're funny,' Rachael captioned her post.

Thankfully she saw the funny side – something not lost on more than 1700 other Facebook users who also found humour in the cheeky coincidence.

'I like them. They deserve a pay rise. Future management,' one woman said.

'At least you can't say they don't care...Probably got a dentist in the family somewhere!' another added.

Another woman shared her own similar experience: 'Mine did something similar once! But it was tampons and pads, and they put the Panadol and chocolate in the same bag!'

Not only are these employees cheeky, they’re also thoughtful too if you think about it.

On the topic of oral health, there are many ways to keep our teeth shiny and mouths healthy aside from controlling our intake of sweets and lollies and regularly brushing teeth.

Did you know that according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, us Aussie adults (aged 15 above) have an average of 11 teeth that are either decayed, missing, and filled as of 2018?

Don’t worry, we got you on this!

To keep our oral health in mint condition (Ha!), it is recommended to avoid soft drinks and fruit juices, and limit the intake of coffee and tea. As an alternative, good old water is suggested.

The Australian Dental Association also urges Aussies to see their dentist every six months or so.

We also recommend those who are feeling any sort of ill symptoms such as prolonged tooth aches to promptly visit their dentist for urgent care.

In addition, we encourage you to take medical tips and advice offered on the internet in the form of hacks — like this one on using nail files to ‘straighten’ crooked teeth — with a grain of salt as they can have medically significant side effects… We don’t think it’s ever a good idea to try to file your own teeth!
