This motorist's unexpected ALDI purchase might change the way you clean your car

Anyone who has owned a car understands the headaches that come with cleaning the exterior. Whether it’s from mud, grime, or dust, it’s no easy feat trying to remove dirt and grime from your beloved vehicle.

So, if you’re looking for ways to keep your car clean without spending a fortune on cleaning products, this mum has a surprising and affordable solution from ALDI.

An Australian mum stumbled across an unexpected use for a popular ALDI product that she claimed left her car sparkling clean in minutes.

On the ALDI Mums Facebook page, the motorist shared before and after photos of her car, revealing how she used Di San Pre-Wash Stain Remover to eliminate the ‘bug graveyard’ adorning her white car's front.

‘Di San pink spray use #231- bug-off spray for the car!’ She captioned the image.

She continued: ‘This car has already been through an auto car wash with barely any of the squashed bugs coming off. Spray with Di San, and leave for 30 seconds. Wiped straight off!’

‘The results of her method transformed her bug-covered car to appear good as new again, much to the delight of other social media users who saw her post.

‘This is the bomb!’ one said.

While another agreed and replied: ‘It is sooo good.’

‘Also great for cleaning grout,’ a third responded.

However, others were sceptical of the cleaning tip and shared they were worried it would end up damaging their cars.

‘I have a bad feeling about this... I really don’t trust the things you use in your home to use on cars,’ one shared.

‘Can’t use that on a car, [it] will destroy your paint,’ warned another.

‘There goes your clear coat,’ someone else wrote.

Di-San Pre Wash Stain Remover 750mL spray is available from ALDI for $2.15.

This isn’t the first time the Di San Pre Wash Stain Remover spray has been praised online. According to others, this cleaning solution can also be used to clean tile grout.

One ALDI shopper posted her method of cleaning in another popular Facebook group and said she sprayed it on her grout, left it for 10 minutes, and then mopped the area twice with hot water and a dash of vinegar.

Many social media users shared their amazement in the comments section, with others claiming they’ll try the advice as soon as they can. You can read the rest of the story here.

The reason why ALDI’s spray is so effective is that the Di San Pre Wash Stain Remover is oxygen-activated to be able to lift tough stains, as well as everyday stains.

If you’re using it for laundry purposes (like it was intended), it says that it is safe to use on coloured clothing and whites.

We know how tempting it is to try some of the cleaning advice we see online and check if it works for us too. However, it’s important not to rush into any of these tips and tricks and do a small patch test on your car first to see if problems arise.

This comes after car experts warned that some cleaning trends you see on social media could be damaging to your car. The tip involves using shaving foam to clean car upholstery – a trend that went viral on various social media platforms. One of the car experts said that shaving foam isn’t intended for cleaning, and this could actually lead to stains on your car seats.

‘As a result, you’d be left with tougher stains that are more difficult to remove,’ the expert shared. You can read the rest of the warning – along with more helpful advice – here.

Doesn’t look like the same area of the car on the two pictures side by side! And the first picture is all rust marks not bug stains which are possibly the result of spraying the wrong product or just a very old car left out in the weather for years. Perhaps a little bit of elbow grease, more often, would get the bug marks off.

Use this product on my washing all the time, it's excellent, but don't think I'll try it on my car.
May try it on my tile, I've tried just about everything else to no effect.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
My shower floor is stone like tiles, in different shades of tan, brown, etc with brown grout. I think the previous owners weren't too fussy about cleaning the shower, I've been able to clean the wall tiles etc. but the grout on the floor tiles is all embedded with soap scum that I just can't get rid off.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Have tried about every shower cleaner I can find, bicarb and vinegar, citric acid , etc
