People LOVE giving each other flowers. They’ve been seen as a symbol of love and are given to show just that! In fact, the act of giving flowers dates back from the times of the ancient Greeks, when they would offer flowers to their gods.
Now, you don’t really have to be a god (or look like one) to receive flowers! Flowers have become a common gift for birthdays, Mother’s Day, anniversaries, and maybe ‘just because’.
The flowers are pretty to look at for a day or two, until they start wilting. The saddest part of having flowers is having to throw them away once they have lost their beauty. But good news!
With this new DIY project made by a home stylist, you no longer have to go through the process of throwing those flowers in the bin. You can thrive in these embellishments that could make your home a more beautiful one to live in!

To pull this project off, all you need are four things:
- Wilting Flowers (or fresh, if you prefer)
- Candles (scented, if you’d like!)
- Baking Paper
- Iron (between medium and low heat)
All you need to do is press the flower against the candle, wrap the baking paper around it in a cylindrical motion (to avoid ruining the flowers!), then press the iron (on a low to medium heat) against the flower for a few seconds. The heat from the iron will melt the wax, allowing the flower to freely stick against the candle and once you remove the baking paper, there you have it! Flower candles! Easy, right?
If you want, you can also add leaves to add a splash of green to your candles!
This DIY project was made by a Home Stylist named Dina Santos with her Mother’s Day Flowers. She posted a DIY video on Instagram where it instantly gained traction with more than 10,000 views!

People have seen the magic and have been expressing their sentiments about the beauty.
‘Just beautiful! Definitely going to try this one!’ one commenter exclaimed with enthusiasm.
'That's the best hack I've seen,' another wrote.
‘Love this! The candles look so pretty!’ a third one wrote.
One viewer brought up that the flowers could possibly be a fire risk as the candle burns, but Dina clarified that it has never been an issue for her but recommended them for decoration purposes only just to be safe. But regardless, who would want to burn such pretty flower candles down?
To make the most of them, you can rest them on top of your fireplace, or maybe they could be a good centrepiece for your dinner or coffee table! You could also place them on your bedside table. They’d be beautiful anywhere you put them!
