With regard to storing food safely in the fridge, RAW meat, fish etc. should be stored in the bottom of the fridge rather than at the top or in the middle. Thi reduces the likelihood of blood or other particle from the raw food, falling on cokked food below and contaminating it.

I was told as a child to Peel green potatoes, because the toxin was under the skin. But because we also knew how to store potatoes and NEVER bought washed ones, *( the layer of soil prevented them turning green) it was moot. But I've seen plenty of green potatoes nowadays...So I source them from places that sell brushed potatoes.
