This budget item from Kmart is the perfect space-saver!

Last year, we wrote an article about a $25 buy from Bunnings that solves one of our home’s most annoying problems – the gap between the fridge and the wall.

Not only is the empty space an eyesore to look at, but it is also extremely difficult and back-breaking to clean! You’re either forced to use a long-handled brush just to clean the gap, or forced to temporarily move the fridge just so you can get rid of any cobwebs and dust buildups.

The Kit Out Timer Spice Rack from Bunnings is thin and can fit in most people’s fridge gaps. Plus, it has several levels so you can utilise the empty space as storage too!

It would have been the perfect solution to our problem if not for one glaring issue – it doesn’t have any wheels.

In the article’s comment section, most of our members agreed that if you’re going to use the rack as storage space as well, it would have been extremely convenient if there were wheels attached to the bottom. That way, you can easily pull the rack out whenever you need something, as compared to dragging the whole thing which may damage your floor.

Now, it seems like Kmart is stepping in to fill the gaps (haha… sorry, we can’t resist a good pun sometimes!).

Introducing Kmart's White Slimline Trolley!

Just like the item from Bunnings, this trolley from Kmart is relatively thin too, measuring only 20cm wide. Meaning it also fits within the small nooks and spaces in your kitchen. It also has three shelves so you can use it as storage for various kitchen items.

It is available in-store and online for only $35. And while the Bunnings item may be taller and cheaper than this one from Kmart, it has one winning feature – it comes with two pairs of 360 degree spinning caster wheels with locking brakes.

Meaning, you no longer have to strain yourself from pulling the rack whenever you need something. Your kitchen floors are now safe from scratches, too!

And while several shoppers have already found the Kmart item to be extremely useful as additional storage in the kitchen, there are also some people that have been using it in their bathrooms.

“This would also be perfect for those annoying little gaps between the bath/shower and sinks in some bathrooms,” one person said.

Kmart’s slimline trolley measures 87.4cm (H) x 20cm (W) x 60cm (D), so if you have a bigger fridge gap, you can buy two and use them alongside each other.

One user even customised their Kmart trolley. They bought two trolleys from the store and completely removed the wheels from one of them. Then they stacked the wheel-less trolley on top of the other, so they could fit even more storage space in such a narrow gap.

Members, do you have those annoying gaps in your home too? This might just be the perfect space-saving item for you!
