Keeping your stuff organised can be difficult, especially when you have a room that is a bit on the smaller side. When nothing is where it should be, things can quickly start to look cluttered and chaotic.
This is especially true for those of us who enjoy crafting and have an extensive collection of tools and stationery supplies on our desks.
Our desks can quickly become visually cluttered with objects like pencils, ballpoints, and scissors, which can have a negative impact on our ability to think creatively. Although, they did say that a messy desk is a sign of genius, so there's that...
But anyways, if you've been staring at your desk at home all day, wondering how to tidy it up (and, more importantly, keep it that way), don't fret because help is here!
To better organise her kids' art supplies, this mum decided to turn to Kmart. Credit: Getty Images, Facebook.
An Aussie mum discovered a clever way to keep her kitchen desk neat and tidy using some very unlikely items from the retail store.
'I was sick of the kids' pencils etc being spread across the kitchen table and left there all the time. I wanted a station that could turn and easily be removed come meal times,' she wrote in her post.
Sharing on a popular Facebook group, the mum revealed that she used a set of three coffee canisters which she got for $11 and a bamboo storage turntable which she got for $22 to create the perfect storage solution! And the best part? All of these are available in her local Kmart!
For $33, she now has a place to keep all of her children's pens, scissors, and drawing materials in order. This rack is perfect for her because her kids usually do most of their art projects on the kitchen table, and she can easily put the whole thing away when it's mealtime.
'Also, the coffee canisters hold more pencils/textas than normal pencil cups. No more pencils scattered across the table and on the floor!' she added. Now, that is very convenient.

It wasn't surprising that the mum's post on social media was immediately flooded with comments from fellow parents and grandparents who were looking to tidy up their desks.
'I love this. What a great idea. Will have to do this for my daughter,' one mum wrote in the comments section, and a second one added: 'I was literally looking for something like this two days ago!!'
Others even said that they are excited to do this in their homes too.
'I love this idea. I'm going to do this for all my scrapbooking bits and pieces,' another user said, with a fourth adding: 'I'm so stealing this idea! I have the same problem, textas all over the dining table!'
Our home, like most others, also suffers from a lack of space and organisation when it comes to art supplies. You can bet that we'll be making a beeline for Kmart to pick up some of these fantastic buys ASAP.
What about you, members? Do you, too, have a hard time keeping your home craft supplies in order? We'll see you at Kmart, then!
