With the costs of gifts, food, and entertainment adding up quickly, finding affordable ways to spread holiday cheer is essential.

Melissa, the ALDI shopper, discovered a simple yet delicious solution using ALDI’s gingerbread cookie dough.

She explained that she wanted to create easy-to-make gingerbread biscuits for the holidays and share them with loved ones, including her family and a local nursing home.

‘I baked three cookie dough rolls, which was enough to share with my mum, my kids, and a nursing home near us,’ Melissa shared.

‘They were affordable, easy to make, and tasted great. Even though I’m very particular about food, these biscuits passed my test.’

Melissa’s festive gingerbread biscuits quickly gained popularity on social media, with many people praising her creative idea.

She shared her method, which involved cutting the dough into discs, baking them for 13 minutes, and then flattening them with a hot tray.

She also provided a recipe for the icing used to decorate the biscuits.

ALDI shoppers were thrilled with Melissa’s hack, and the gingerbread cookie dough quickly sold out in many stores.

‘I’ve bought the same dough, and I can’t wait to make the Christmas cookies,’ one person commented.

‘I’ll have a look for this next time I’m shopping. I absolutely love gingerbread cookies!’ another fan enthused.

‘Oh, they are brilliant, well done,’ another person said.

‘I couldn’t find this dough; I was looking for it to make cookies for a class party but failed... they look incredible.’

'You all sold my store out,' Melissa commented on the thread. 'I should have stocked up before posting!'

Fortunately, some people pointed out that Coles also sells the dough.

'I got this dough from Coles and have made it at work two days this week. Everyone LOVED it!' one fan said.
