The ‘secret’ to spotless, streak-free shower glass that's been hiding in your bathroom cabinet!

We know all too well that cleaning the shower glass can be a difficult job, especially if you're fighting hard against built-up limescale, soap scum and general grime.
If you ever have moments when you feel entirely stumped on how to get this important yet tedious task done correctly, don’t fret because there is some hope.
Anita Birges, a home hacks guru and professional organiser recently shared her favourite shower cleaning hacks – the most surprising of which is using an unusual hygiene product to get your shower screen looking crystal clear again.
Can you guess what it is?
That’s right, shaving foam! And, yes, the same kind that women use to shave their legs or men use every morning to shave their faces – believe it or not.
Using it is pretty simple, too! Here’s what you have to do:
First, Anita suggests removing the seal at the bottom of the shower door to get access to all the nooks and crannies of the shower. Then, spray the shaving cream all over the glass doors and proceed to scrub it with a brush to get the best out of it.
The best part about using shaving foam for your shower glass is that not only does it work to clean the shower screen and all its surrounding edges, but it also leaves a protective layer on the screen so that limescale and fogging won't occur. Talk about a win-win situation!
Once you're done grime-busting the glass, don't forget to also tackle other parts of the shower. If you want to keep your tiles and grout clean and mould-free, Anita suggests making a DIY tile-cleaning spray.
Mix one cup of vinegar, ten drops of clove oil and ten drops of tea tree oil and spray it all over your tiles and grout. Clove oil is known to kill mould spores, and tea tree oil will prevent the mould from coming back.
While vinegar contains both antifungal and antibacterial characteristics, its acidic composition makes it an exceptionally effective cleaner that can break down oil and remove stubborn filth.
Once the spray is ready, spray it all over the tiles and grout, scrub the hard-to-reach areas with a scrubbing brush and then wipe everything down with a cloth.
Of course, the showerhead is also something that deserves a regular cleaning, as limescale tends to build up inside the holes where water comes out, negatively affecting the water pressure.
Anita’s solution for this was rather simple: fill up a plastic bag with white vinegar and then tie the bag over the showerhead. Leave the showerhead inside this vinegar solution for about 10 minutes before taking it off and running the shower over it. It’s that easy!
Members, the next time your shower screen looks a little bit foggy or dirty, think about raiding your bathroom cabinet for the perfect cleaning solution: shaving cream!
With all these tips in mind, we hope you can now make short work of your cleaning, get the best results for your time and effort, and have a sparkling, hygienic shower that you can relax in.
