Wow!! We might actually still have some of these where I'm from but this is very interesting!

I live in Melbourne and I am a five minute walk from Chadstone Shopping Centre...there is a cobbler there...I recently had a pair of boots reheeled. It was very expensive to have it done but I elected to have them reheeled even though they were fairly old. They were leather and in very good condition. I wouldn't be able to buy a replacement pair for the price I paid to have them reheeled. The cobblers/shoe repairman are a rare breed these days
