There’s an endless supply of indoor home improvement hacks… But your outdoor space needs some TLC too!

TikTok sensation (and a personal favourite of many here in the SDC), Chantel Mila, is on a roll again after unveiling her top five secrets to bringing any outdoor space to life.

The Melbourne-based ‘home hacks’ queen said that the trick to achieving a dreamy outdoor area is by wiping down furniture pieces to clean them, adding an umbrella for shade, laying down a stylish rug, and completing the look with a touch of colourful chairs and cushions.

She begins by using a garden broom to sweep away the dirt from her deck as well as spiderwebs off her railings.

Then the mum-of-two demonstrates her ultimate trick to sparkling clean outdoor furniture: A bucket of water combined with some Simple Green All-purpose Cleaner, which is available for $9.98 at Bunnings.

“Hack: Use a car sponge to make it easier to [get] rid [of] dirt and bird droppings.” the mum-of-two suggested in her clip.

She proceeds by thoroughly cleaning her furniture with the mixture, using the sponge to get rid of all the tough, nasty grime and then wiping it all off again with a microfibre cloth.

Next, the organisation expert grabs a stylish outdoor rug and lays it down, immediately making the area look cosier, and places her table and benches on top.

For some shade, she adds an umbrella over the table and adds some statement chairs and cushions for a pop of colour.

She finishes it all off by dressing the table with a runner, a chic succulent plant, and a refreshing jug of lemon water.

Also known as Mama Mila, the organisation expert has gained a huge following of more than 833 thousand followers on TikTok for her handy home and life hacks. Her outdoor hacks video accumulated over 22k views and a thousand likes, with users flocking to the comments to share their approval.

Um.. What is so fancy about a bucket of hot water and a broom? Surely that's just part of keeping your place clean and tidy. The rest is just about putting out your furniture tidily and a strategically placed plant. If that is the criteria for a "hack" I've just vacuumed the floor and moved the coffee table!!
