The MESS-FREE cheese grating hack that you should know — “Genius! I never thought of that”

Grating cheese is a simple task that most of us cannot stand, I mean how many times have you cut your fingers grating cheese? So, what if you could make your cheese grating even easier and less messy?

Sophie Liard, also known as The Folding Lady, has shared some of the most inventive home organising hacks on social media, gaining millions of followers from all over the world.

In one of her recent videos, she revealed how she manages to grate cheese without creating a mess (or hurting herself!)

Sharing the video on TikTok, Sophie says: "Here's a cheese hack."

"Instead of doing that and having a plate underneath," she says while demonstrating how we normally grate a block of cheese with the grater.

The Folding Lady then flips the grater to its side with the “grating side” facing upfront and continues to grate the block of cheese.

“Just do that,” she advises.

Sophie then questions herself asking why she did not learn the hack earlier and only tried doing it last year.

“Genius,” she exclaims.

Sophie suggested flipping the grater to its side and rubbing the cheese on it instead of grating a block of cheese with the grater standing right up. Credit: TikTok/@TheFoldingLady.

The video became an instant classic, gaining more than 58,000 views and over 4,700 comments from users who were raving over the "simple yet genius" hack.

One person wrote: "This just changed my life."

"Genius right. I never thought of that either," another quipped.

A third chimed in: "So simple but soooo genius!"

Meanwhile, others shared their own tips for preventing cheese from sticking to their grater when they grate it.

One woman suggested: "Spray it with Avocado oil or Pam or whatever spray you normally use. Mine always sticks to the grater."

How about you? Do you know any other cheese grating hacks? Share them with us so other members of the SDC can try them too!

Just had a look at Woolies they have a box grater for $8, the base looks to be where the grated cheese is stored. I am always grating my fingers with my old grater, might try this hack and see if it is any better.
