The LITTLE-KNOWN WOOLWORTHS HACK ensures you get exactly what you’re after — “This is so great!”

Do you find online shopping to be stressful? While there is an undeniable convenience to shopping from the comfort of your lounge room, the uncertainty of not seeing or trying before buying, and the added shipping costs are a bit of a pain eh? And then you don’t even know if you'll end up with the right product.

However, as COVID-19 cases surge, more and more people are opting for online shopping to purchase their essentials.

If you are one of those people who are concerned with what might show up on your doorstep when you buy online (like we do), then we've got good news for you!

Woolworths has taken to TikTok to share a video tutorial on how to leave personalised notes to team members when ordering groceries from its website.

Sydney staff member Liam Kirley — who runs the official TikTok page of the supermarket giant — gave a detailed tutorial, showing how you can add messages to an order.

The feature allows customers to tell staff members to select items based on the shopper's preferences — particular use-by dates, ripeness of a product, and other reminders including their gratitude for the staff members' work.

Liam said that in order to leave a message for an order, first, you simply select a food item or product on the Woolworths app.

Next, click on the tab labelled 'add personal shopper note'.

Upon clicking the app, the screen will show you a box where you can write your notes.

The team member will receive the message while they scan the particular food item and complete the order.

Woolworths customers swooned over the little-known tip, with many labelling the future as "helpful".

One person wrote: "So you're now telling me I can ask the team to choose perfectly ripe avocados! This is a great idea."

"This is so great. The team have definitely helped out big time with my online shopping during Covid. I'll be sure to leave a note thanking them next order," another added.

The staff members of the supermarket giant also expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the messages they receive from customers.

One team member wrote: "It is so appreciated! Makes our days just that little bit better."

"It's very much appreciated, trust me we do notice it. We've received such lovely notes from customers and it's amazing," another quipped.

It should be noted that Woolworths added this feature when online orders peaked during the early days of lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When I cannot find a staff member to ask when having difficulty I always end up walking up to the service desk. I find this a darn nuisance and on many occasions they have had to call the grocery manager to come to the desk. Surely it is not that hard to organise something other than the customer having to walk the length of the store to go to the service desk and 9 times out of 10 have to wait for the checkout operator to finish serving before she can attend to you. The number of times I have walked out and gone elsewhere!!
