Had to make our own bikes in my day, out of bits scavenged from around the hood, mine was a 28 inch fixed wheel, no brakes. Racing down Northern av, Bardon. No way to turn ,so straight over the edge, into bushes of Lantana, wasps nests. Was not a good ending. That was 68 years ago, still here, somehow. The Lingy.
