The easiest and most effective way to clean your washing machine

Today we're sharing handy wisdom and venturing into the surprising world of washing machine care.

We've overlooked an important aspect of machine maintenance: Cleanliness.

That's right, just like your favourite woollen jumper or the comfortable socks you wear incessantly, your washing machine needs a scrub down too.

But isn’t it constantly filled with soap and water? Shouldn't it, therefore, be relatively clean? One would rightfully assume so.

Over time, leftover detergents, excess dirt, grease, lint, water minerals, and fabric softener residues can stubbornly accumulate within our trusty machine.

Recently, there's been a trend of deep-cleaning videos popping up across social media.

Among these videos, one practice is catching a ripple of attention: washing machine detox.

And in this swarm of household tips and grubby machines, there shone a beacon of cleanliness—the Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner.

No need for elaborate concoctions of household supplies or odd dish-soap experiments, this little wonder claims it is all you need.

Utilising one tablet monthly, or every 30 wash loads, this promises to purge the grime that blemishes your wash cycles.

Are cleaning processes a dodgy alley you'd rather avoid? Not to worry! Products like Affresh make it as easy as can be.

To start, ensure your washer is suitably garment-free. Pop in a tab, select a cycle, and you're done! No specialised washing machine cleaning cycles are recommended, but if yours doesn’t have that function, a standard or heavy cycle with hot water will suffice.

If you haven't incorporated Affresh cleaner into your regular cleaning routine, consider giving it a try.

With over 275,000 satisfied customers on Amazon, this remarkable cleaning product has become a game-changer for many.

Perhaps as a testament that it is not a passing cleaning trend, Affresh has a loyal following online that swears by its effectiveness.

One user shared, ‘I tried running a hot water wash, which helped a little. Bleach was some help too. Vinegar didn't seem to do much. Affresh fixed the mess. I got the tablets and the wipes and, between the two, succeeded in getting rid of the gunk. So if you've got a college boy-level of disgusting going on in your washer, this will do the trick.’

My machine has an output opening. At the front of the machine, our front loader has a little door which has a pipe that should be regularly wiped out.
So, when I de-scale, as I have been doing for years, I clean out the output opening, even though there is rarely something in there. De-scaling once every 2 months seems to do the job for me.
Given that, I don't know if up-rights work the same way.

My front loader lets me know when the machine needs a clean. I have to put in half the usual amount of detergent, and it has a cleaning function/cycle that cleans the machine.

I just use a good amount of vinegar in a hot wash, seems to work well. I wash my grandsons greasy mechanic work clothes and with the stainless steel drum, a vinegar wash and wipe out I don’t get any grease or oil residue. Mine is an upright. I also have two lint filters on the sides which I clean once a week.
