The Berlin Wall​

In several parts of Berlin there are sections of the wall still standing. It has been hacked at by tourists in order to take home pieces of it. Some sections have been painter in bright colors with art that features on tourism brochures. One section still standing demonstrates the "no go zone" between two parallel boundary walls. People were shot instantly, in that zone from a guard's tower overlooking it, while trying to escape to the west. Very sombre viewing.
