That’s a wrap, folks! Neighbours cast share one final photo together but there’s one missing detail…

It’s time to bid adieu to Australia’s longest-running soap Neighbours after spending a fruitful 37 years on our television screens.

After the final scene was shot on Friday, the cast along with the crew huddled together for one last photo before closing the curtains for good. But a handful of eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot one missing detail from the picture.

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, who played characters Charlene and Scott Robinson, were nowhere to be seen in the image. The beloved couple made television history when their characters tied the knot back in 1987, leaving millions of people glued to their screens in anticipation of the event.

They were both set to make a reappearance on Ramsay Street as Kylie previously shared on Late Night with Seth Meyers that she had already shot her scenes.

“There was quite a bit of pressure for me to go back, so I shot my scenes,” she revealed to the host.

It’s likely that the popstar had to sneak in a shooting for Neighbours around her hectic schedule.

April Rose Pengilly, who plays Chloe Brennan on the show, treated fans to a peek at the dazzling cake that Channel 10 had sent to the cast. Taking the shape of an old television set, the Neighbours logo can be seen on the screen with the dates 1985-2022.

There was an overwhelming amount of love and support shown for the Neighbours’ final cast photo, captioned: “That’s a wrap.”

The Neighbours’ stars dedicated their own heartfelt messages to the show, expressing sincere gratitude for all the memories that were created.

Ben Hall posted a series of photos on social media, saying: “I appreciated it then, but I appreciate it even more now that it’s over. My gratitude for this place and these people is immense.”

“To everyone who watched and all those who made it happen. Thank you for everything.” he continued.

Matt Wilson also shared a video of the red ‘on air’ studio light going out for one final time. “Neighbours. Wrapped for the last time ever,” he wrote.

Earlier this week, Alan Fletcher, who has played Karl Kennedy since 1994 posted a photo of himself on Ramsay Street, saying: “Yesterday was the last day of location for the Kennedy clan. Jackie Woodburne and I have stood under this arch outside 28 Ramsay street many times over the last 28 years," he said.

"Emotions starting to well up as we finalise filming all together on Friday. Stay tuned, the last episodes are amazing!”

Thousands of the show’s fans couldn’t resist getting a little sentimental over the celebrities’ dedications, with one user saying: “I loved you guys from the beginning!” alongside several crying emojis.

“What am I going to do about the Neighbours size hole that will be in my heart when you have all gone? I've watched from the very beginning and life won't be the same. Thank you for being a constant in my life for all these years.” said another.
