Here are the ingredients you need for the meatballs:

1. 500g of pork mince
2. 2 green shallots, white section thinly sliced, green section thinly sliced diagonally
3. 2 garlic cloves, crushed
4. 2 tsp of finely grated fresh ginger
5. 1/4 tsp of Chinese five spice
6. 25g (1/2 cup) of panko breadcrumbs
7. 1 egg, lightly whisked
8. Ground white pepper, to taste

Ingredients for the sauce:

1. 185ml (3/4 cup) of sweetened pineapple juice
2. 80ml (1/3 cup) of tomato sauce
3. 2 tbsp of rice wine vinegar
4. 2 tsp of soy sauce
5. 2 tsp of cornflour

Kick things off by combining the pork mince, white section of the green shallots, garlic, ginger, Chinese five spice, breadcrumbs, and egg in a large bowl. Add a pinch of salt and ground white pepper to taste. Using clean hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Scoop a quarter cupful of this mixture and roll them into roughly 10 balls, ensuring they are of even size.

Then, lightly spray the meatballs and the base of your air fryer basket or baking tray with oil. Arrange the meatballs, being cautious not to overcrowd them. Set your air fryer or oven to 180°C and cook the meatballs for around 10 minutes or until they develop a golden crispy exterior and are cooked through.

Meanwhile, in a large, deep frying pan, combine the pineapple juice, tomato sauce, rice wine vinegar, and soy sauce. Warm the mixture gently over medium-low heat, making sure to stir frequently until it is well blended. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the cornflour and 1 tbsp water until smooth. Gradually add this mixture to the sauce and continue stirring until the sauce thickens and is just about to simmer.

Carefully place the meatballs in the pan with the sauce and gently toss through until coated. Sprinkle with the green section of the shallot to serve. And there you have it, members! You can serve these with steamed rice and a side of mixed vegetables for an utterly satisfying and well-rounded meal. Enjoy, and happy cooking!

Oh my goodness, I also LOVE sweet and sour sauce on fish fillets. That's a wonderful combination! My nan used to cook that for me all the time back when I was little!
