Gods morning SDC and members.
As volunteer duty watch officer on the Sail Training Ship, STS Leeuwin II here in Western Australia www.sailleeuwin.com, I see all types of kids from all socio-income level groups, 14 years and up experience a 5-7 or 10 day voyages, of self discovery. Leeuwin has since August 1986 trained in excess of 45,000 kids from all types of backgrounds. Here are the kids, after a voyage tidying away the sails on the yard arms at sunset. Stunning ship! I went for a three hour cruise out of Eden NSW in 1988 when she stopped over on her way to Sydney for the First Fleet Re-enactment, an unforgettable experience. I can imagine what an enormous thrill it must be for all the kids that get to do the longer trips, where they learn so much about the ship, and themselves.
