Sunrise host Edwina Bartholomew shares her ingenious pregnancy hack, and to say it's handy would be putting it lightly

Aussie journalist and TV presenter Edwina Bartholomew and her co-host, Matt Shirvington, are currently covering for the morning show Sunrise, while Natalie Barr and David Koch are away for the holidays.

And on Friday’s episode, Edwina, who is currently expecting her second child, shared a ‘handy’ hack for reaching her papers on her desk despite the growing baby bump.

During the segment, Edwina told the viewers that her co-host Matt had given her a rather helpful gift: a $2 sticky hand toy from Kmart.

“I do want to just give a shout-out to Shirvo. The other day, I was complaining that I couldn’t reach the scripts for obvious reasons,” said the mum-of-two, pointing to her baby bump.

“He's gone to Kmart and got me one of these… flippy hands, so now I can!” she said, as she brought out the bright green-coloured toy and proceeded to demonstrate how it can grab a paper from a distance, saving Edwina the hassle of bending over.

“It works, right?” her co-host responded, somewhat proud of his gift.

The 38-year-old joked that this was “the most considerate thing anyone has ever done” for her, adding that the whole incident was “so funny”.

Edwina also shared the hilarious clip of the show’s segment on her Instagram page, with several people and fellow TV personalities commenting on the post.

Fellow Channel 7 journalist Abbey Gelmi wrote: “This is the greatest,” and tagged Matt’s Instagram account.

“The best pregnancy hack… Why didn’t I have this for when I was pregnant,” said another mum.

Meanwhile, another user asked how long will Edwina be on the breakfast show before she goes on maternity leave, to which she responded: “End of Jan!”

Edwina and her husband, Neil Varcoe, got married in 2018 and announced they were expecting their second child back in August.

Whilst the couple already know the gender of the baby, they have decided to keep it private until after the birth, which is due in February.
