Still wrestling with a bulky TV? Kmart’s $99 projector could be your space-saving solution

Many shoppers have been desperate to get their hands on one.

Some even called it the perfect alternative to a bulky TV.

But does this $99 Kmart gadget live up to the hype?

Kate Liermann managed to get her hands on the sell-out $99 mini projector from Kmart and shared her thoughts after trying it out in her living space.

The portable device, which includes a built-in speaker and remote control, has become a must-have for DIY home cinemas—perfect for watching *The Notebook in bed or hosting an outdoor movie night.

Kate described the moment she unboxed it with excitement, saying: ‘Look how cute—I love it.’

The projector offered a native 720p resolution, supported screen sizes up to 100 inches (2.54 metres), and allowed easy connections to phones or headphones using USB or HDMI.

Kate said the device had a few hiccups at first but worked ‘really well’ once she connected both her iPhone and Samsung phone.

‘Obsessed is an understatement… Kmart has even impressed my husband with this one,’ she said in a video.

Kate was impressed by the projector’s ability to create a large, focused image depending on how far back it was placed.

‘You can pull it back further and the picture will get bigger and stays focused, you just need to make sure it is straight otherwise it can be blurry,’ she explained.

According to Kmart’s website, the screen size reaches 50 inches at 1.6 metres, 70 inches at 2.2 metres, and the full 100 inches at 3.2 metres.

‘The quality is amazing… I was quite surprised,’ Kate added.

The projector weighs 1.4kg and has flown off shelves as a budget-friendly option compared to more expensive brands.

Kate's video has already attracted more than 380,000 views on social media.
