SOS Members! Need advice for cleaning my wooden coffee table

Good Morning members!

I had an absolute shocker last night and spilt my hot cup of tea on a book. As I was frantically cleaning the cover of the book / tea of the ground, I didn't actually pick up the book for a good 2 minutes. As a result this has happened to my coffee table. The actual mark feels normal, so I don't think the lacquer has been ruined but I'm not really sure. I've been reading online and one website said try bi-carb soda and water, but I'm a little bit worried because I really don't want to ruin the finish.

Has this happened to any of you before? Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you in advance for any help!!!

Maddie ❤️

Hey members! I just thought I'd jump in here with an update...

So I tried using vinegar and olive oil (as per the internets suggestion) and it slightly faded the mark, but really didn't do much. So I did some more reading and discovered that if you take an old cloth and iron it on top of the table, the heat of the iron removes the water mark while the steam protects the finish and it worked immediately! I was blown away, because I was so worried I was going to have a burn mark AND a water mark :ROFLMAO:

This is the YouTube video I watched -
