Hope you’re a Tasmanian Andrew, We’re the only ones permitted to send ourselves up. Besides we have to keep our Tassie dollars for our amazing new stadium.I went to the bank the other day to change some money. Got turned away as they didn't have any Tasmanian dollars.![]()
PattiB Not all Ur $$$$$$ as $240m is from the Federal government and $25m from the AFL.Hope you’re a Tasmanian Andrew, We’re the only ones permitted to send ourselves up. Besides we have to keep our Tassie dollars for our amazing new stadium.
Are there any Australian AFL dollars being contributed to your new stadium in downtown Tassie ??Hope you’re a Tasmanian Andrew, We’re the only ones permitted to send ourselves up. Besides we have to keep our Tassie dollars for our amazing new stadium.
I know but most of the funds will come from here. I’m in favour of the football team but the stadium will be a problem especially when things such as catering & the electronic screens haven’t been budgeted for. Of course our Premier has assured us that there won’t be any blowouts in the stadium budget. He seems to think that big name artists will come, which is unlikely with the stadium only catering for 23,000 people, besides a lot of people here don’t like travelling too far from home. Not at all like WA residents, so it gets a bit frustrating living here.PattiB Not all Ur $$$$$$ as $240m is from the Federal government and $25m from the AFL.
I’ll put this on my list Reet & I’m sure I will squirm too. Have you read Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult? It’s about a black nurse who has worked as a midwife for years, when she was assigned to care for a newborn white baby & of course the baby’s father objected & didn’t want her anywhere near his baby. The baby unfortunately died & the nurse was blamed & charged with murder. I haven’t finished reading yet but it has made me so angry.Any readers out there? I have a book I strongly recommend everyone to read. The title is A Calamity of Souls by David Baldacci. It's set in the late 60's early 1970's and is the story of a couple of black people in the southern states of the USA accused of murdering the man's employer and his wife. It really made me squirm at the treatment the white people still gave the black people just because of the colour of their skin even after slavery had officially been abolished!
There were also black land owners with black slaves and they weren't treated much better than the white land owners with their black slaves!Any readers out there? Before you have a dig at me, I'm actually half caste Tasmanian, my Mum born and bred on a farm at the foot of Mount Derwent where she lived until she was 19.Hope you’re a Tasmanian Andrew, We’re the only ones permitted to send ourselves up. Why would I have a dig at you Veggie? Before you have a dig at me, I'm actually half caste Tasmanian, my Mum born and bred on a farm at the foot of Mount Derwent where she lived until she was 19.
Best you speak to Albo about that....that's his territory, so to speak.I was expecting a bit of a negative reaction, from my "two heads" comment.
But I think I qualify as being a member of the only ones permitted to send ourselves up, being half Tasmanian.
Can I apply for land rights??![]()
I'll certainly put that one on my reading list. Thanks Patti(B)I’ll put this on my list Reet & I’m sure I will squirm too. Have you read Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult? As long as you’re a bit Indigenous, then you can join in & wave your placard.I was expecting a bit of a negative reaction, from my "two heads" comment.
