Something’s not right—shoppers call out shocking change in popular ALDI buy

When it comes to grocery shopping, we all expect a certain level of quality—especially with staple ingredients we’ve been buying for years.

But what happens when a familiar product suddenly starts looking a little… off?

One shopper recently raised concerns about a popular supermarket item, and it didn’t take long for others to chime in with similar experiences.

When buying coconut milk, most shoppers expect a smooth, creamy product with a distinct coconut aroma.

However, a concerned customer recently shared her experience on social media, revealing that her usual coconut milk purchase from ALDI had started looking and smelling unusual.

Posting anonymously, she shared side-by-side photos comparing an ALDI can to one from Woolworths, showing a clear difference in texture and appearance.

‘Has anyone noticed this with the coconut milk? I’ve been buying it for years but lately it has been like this. It doesn’t even smell like coconut…’ she wrote.

She assured others that she had shaken the cans properly, yet the ALDI version appeared oily and curdled.

Many commenters shared similar experiences, describing their recent purchases as watery, oily, or resembling coconut oil rather than coconut milk.

‘Yep!! Had a couple recently that looked like grey water, so gross!’ one person said.

Another agreed, saying: ‘I used one last night, gave it a really good shake before opening, and it was super watery and oily looking also.’

Shoppers also questioned whether the product had spoiled or undergone a change in formula.

‘Yuck, it looks out of date. I would take them back in a box and show them the picture. Also email head office—that is not good enough,’ one person suggested.

Others recommended switching to different brands, with one shopper stating: ‘Yes! I opened a second can thinking something was wrong and the second was the same. Never buying it again—back to buying it from Woolies or Coles.’

Some admitted they had stopped purchasing ALDI’s coconut milk altogether after multiple disappointing experiences.

‘Yes!!!! Glad I’m not the only one noticing—horrible to use,’ a commenter wrote.

While ALDI has yet to respond to these complaints, many affected customers have already decided to take their business elsewhere.
