Some not so hidden treasures along the NSW coastline.

Whilst planning our trip down the NSW coastline we received a tip to stop over at a particular headland said to be one of the great stops along the way. This headland shall remain nameless; as we travel with our 10+ year old Siberian Husky - Indi we are always looking for pet friendly parks. Well the recommended destination was dog friendly as long as your dog was no higher than 20 cm! Ok so Indi isn't a sausage dog but if you do have dogs that size or less then you'll get in at ?? Head (think phases of the moon and you'll find it) Anyhow we pulled into Hat Head Holiday Park, to find we were meters from the beach and the river that leads inland from the beach. What a gem if you're into your fishing it's gold we walked in the shallows of the river mouth with Indi and were surrounded by good sized fish (as in keepers) such as whiting and bream! just cruising in less than knee deep water. There are some great views from the heights of the actual headland and the area is very quiet. We'd recommend it to anyone travelling down the East Coast of NSW.1726182878838.png1726182915671.png1726183198861.png1726182976566.png

I will definitely check it out . We are heading down to Worrigee in a few weeks.

Thanks for sharing 👍

@sdc there should be a permanent travelling post eg like the jokes and cooking.

It's always great to get recommendations like this one from Mac91

My only association with Hat Head was many years ago sailing back from New Caledonia. We had 30knots on the nose for seven days, there was almost more water in the boat than not. We came across Hat head and spent the night in the lee of it just to have a reasonable nights sleep.

An adventure which could have been a mishap for sure!
