‘There are super cheap Tupperware pieces at The Reject Shop right now. Our store had already sold a lot, but I picked up the big salad bowl, some little spice containers and the shakers (I’ll use these for dressing—not sure how they’re meant to be used),’ she said on her social media.
‘The lady at the checkout was as excited as me about them. Such bargains!’

Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Tupperware, a household name for nearly 80 years, was facing potential closure after a tumultuous period on the stock market.
The CEO, Miguel Fernandez, acknowledged the challenges and the company's efforts to secure additional financing and restructure its financial position.
‘The company is doing everything in its power to mitigate the impacts of recent events, and we are taking immediate action to seek additional financing and address our financial position,’ he said.
As a result, Tupperware products have been popping up at various retailers, including Myer and ALDI, and now The Reject Shop.
Some speculate that the brand is offloading stock quickly due to its financial situation.
‘I've heard they've gone bust, so must be trying to offload stock quickly,’ one shopper claimed.
‘Tupperware has gone bankrupt, but they are planning to restructure their debt, make their way through bankruptcy, and hopefully come back stronger. Let's see if they have a plan to make it through the digital age,’ another said.
To understand the full picture, Kidspot reached out to a Sydney selling agent who confirmed that Tupperware had entered voluntary administration.
This strategic move allows the company a year to either attract an investor or revamp its business model.
It's believed that The Reject Shop's current Tupperware offerings come from a bulk purchase from Tupperware Malaysia, enabling the retailer to sell the items at significantly reduced prices compared to those offered by consultants.
However, this doesn't spell the end for Tupperware.
‘This doesn't mean we're going away. Instead, it allows us to reorganise and make changes that will help us grow in the future,’ the brand reassured its Australian consultants in a statement.
‘We'll keep selling our popular products through sales consultants and online.’
While The Reject Shop has not confirmed whether Tupperware will become a regular fixture in its stores nationwide, they've hinted that this might not be the last we see of these discounted items on their shelves.
