Slug Gun

Back in the ‘50s and ‘60s, kids would unwrap a slug gun as a birthday gift.

Many Aussies then plinked at cans or aimed at birds (thankfully, with poor aim).

It was a different time, when rifles were seen as a part of their childhood.

They were selling in the 70;s also. I bought my slug gun a .22 mm in 1973 and walked through the shopping centre then walked to my mates house in Warrawong with gun in hand passing many people and nobody even looked worried if you did now the police would be the in minutes with guns drawn
