As a young child we didn’t have cameras, we only have photos because a few of our uncles had cameras and used to take the photos. I did not even know such a thing as slides existed until I met hubby, his father had most of his photos made into slides. Hubby grew up with regular movie and slide nights his dad organised and held in the big closed in verandah room at their farm. Pop would hire or purchase movies and invite all the neighbours to watch them. The ladies brought a plate and they had supper afterwards. This was in the 1950s, 1960s era. hubbys family , friends and relatives would also have slide nights, pop was the only one in the district with a slide projector and screen to show the slides. We have a lot of slides and a slide projector still that hubby’s mum gave us when she sorted out all pops slides and gave them out to all her kids. The grandkids like to see them now.
