Six sisters—the eldest at 101 and the youngest at 88—have a combined age that is nothing short of astonishing: 570 years and 43 days.
The Overall sisters have lived through a century of history, witnessing the world change in ways most of us can only read about.
Now, they believe they might just be the oldest six-sibling group in the world.
The sisters, Norma Jacob, 101, Lorene Kollmeyer, 98, Maxine Cole, 97, Doris Hawkins, 93, Margaret Norton, 90, and Elma Jennings, 88, have submitted their claim to Guinness World Records in the hope of being officially recognised for this extraordinary milestone.
Their lives are a history book, each page filled with personal tales of joy, hardship, and resilience.
'God's been good to us to give us the lives that we've had,' Margaret reflected in an interview.
The Overall family's narrative also includes a touching tribute to their brother, Stanley Overall, who passed away at the age of 81 in a bicycle accident. He would have been 102 today.
A bike trail in town now bears his name, a testament to his memory and the impact he had on his community.
'We only wish our only brother, Stanley Jr, was still with us,' Alma said, expressing the sisters' collective sentiment.
Stanley’s daughter, Gail Overall Agers, said her dad would’ve been ‘very proud’ of his sisters ‘because they meant the world to him’.
The idea to reach out to Guinness World Records was sparked by Norma's son, Dean, who recognised the uniqueness of his mother and aunts' combined ages.
'Now that we have somebody over 100, and the rest are in their 90s, except for our baby aunt, it's like, you know, we may be onto something,' he said.
The sisters have become somewhat local celebrities, often seen wearing numbered t-shirts that playfully indicate their birth order during family gatherings and interviews.
The outpouring of support from relatives and friends on social media has been overwhelming.
Jay Jennings, Elma's son, shared pictures of the interview on social media, leading to a flood of heartwarming comments and well-wishes.
'My mum is Doris No. 4. What an amazing group of gals,' commented Brooke Hawkins, Doris's daughter.
‘Love Ms Elma,' another said.
Another commented, 'Loved watching this, thank you for sharing it. God bless all of these lucky ladies.'
