Simple arithmetic.​

In a game of 12 players lasting for 80 minutes,
four substitutes alternate equally with each player.
This means that all players including the substitutes,
are on the pitch for the same length of time.
For how long?

You have assumed the 4 substitutes are extra players i.e. 16 players. The question clearly states that there are 12 players. This would mean there are 8 on the field and 4 subs. If there are 8 on the field and 4 substitutes exchange with 4 of them. then the ones who came off are now substitutes who will change with the other 4; those players have now been on the field twice. The unchanged players have also now played 2 segments. The unchanged players are now subbed off and the last segment is played with the "new" subs.

Each player therefore is on the field for 53 mins and 23 seconds. 2/3*80
