Shoppers respond to HILARIOUS pricing error at Woolies

You may have noticed already that supermarket prices are skyrocketing at the moment.
Grocery items such as meat, drinks, and other pantry products were reported to have increased in price, and Aussies are gradually feeling the burn in their pockets.
However, a Woolies shopper noticed that amidst these ongoing price hikes, there was one surprising item in the supermarket that became so a lot more expensive as well. So much so that its price went up an astounding ten times more than its usual price!
The item is not even a household “necessity” and the shopper doubts there are any “supply shortages” for it in the country. So why the ridiculous price increase?
At this point, the woman can only assume that this is a case of another hilarious pricing error from Woolworths.

There, she found an item that she never thought would make her day, so she decided to share it on Facebook.
In her Facebook post, the woman shared a picture of some plastic novelty Easter bunny glasses from Woolies with the unbelievable price tag of $40.
Yes, you read that right, members. A plastic Easter bunny glasses from Woolies cost a whopping $40!
Several users on social media flooded the woman’s post with their hilarious responses to the obvious pricing error, joining in on the “inflation” and “markup” jokes. And since Easter is only a few weeks away, they quipped at the upcoming holiday too!
“Easter bunny might have to be in isolation this year…” wrote one user, while another added: “Damn, Easter is expensive this year!”
“Only the rich get Easter this year,” joked a third.
Some also made fun of how the woman would probably have more luck finding cheaper glasses in Specsavers than Woolworths.
Meanwhile, a fellow shopper shared that the Easter glasses were not the only item that had its price ridiculously marked up.
“I went to buy my daughter's baby formula and it said $700,” she commented. “It scanned at that price too. I ended up getting one free and the second half price.”
While most people were seeing the funny side of this price glitch at Woolies, a supermarket employee revealed that while it’s true that is not the price for the item, it’s not exactly “far off”.
“I did the Easter corner in my store and when we print the tickets out, they print as carton prices (what you see is the price for the whole carton),” she said.
“We then have to fill the stock and go back through and reorder all the tickets for the individual items. Individual prices are also on the boxes as well.”
Another store employee confirmed this is indeed the case and has caused price errors with other items before.
“Whoever has done the ticket has put the whole carton price up instead of the individual price of the item,” they said.
Well, you can rest easy, members! Looks like the prices of our favourite Easter items are not going up anytime soon (thank goodness!).
