Self-described 'gross girl' shares her lifestyle on TikTok: "I'm just a hippy"

Although a majority of people may find the lifestyle of this lady to be… well, let's just say a little off-putting, the woman believes that her unorthodox behaviour accurately reflects who she really is and that she is being true to herself.

A woman who describes where she lives as the "middle of nowhere" has defended her "gross" lifestyle, which includes skipping showers for up to a week at a time and not brushing her teeth on a daily basis.

Due to the fact that she lives alone in an area where she doesn't usually have any contact with other humans, Annabel Fenwick Elliott said that she was able to develop habits that other people would consider 'nasty'.

In one of her TikTok videos, the self-described 'gross girl' admitted she doesn't take a bath very often, even claiming that she can go for weeks without hitting the shower.

"I don't see the point; I don't like the feeling of getting wet and then having to dry, especially when it's cold," she said, adding that she also dislikes using deodorant.

Because Annabel often has days at a time without seeing any other people, she doesn't see the point in going through the trouble of taking a bath and cleaning herself. "It doesn't bother me," she went on to say.

She did, however, clarify that she wears deodorant to her local supermarket out of courtesy to the other customers. On most days, however, her deodorant sits untouched on her bathroom shelf.

Annabel continued by saying that despite the fact that she is aware that not brushing her hair will lead to it becoming dry and matted, she still does not do it very frequently.

The same can be said for her teeth, as she does not brush them nearly as frequently as she should.

"I understand how bad and stupid that is. I don't like brushing them first thing in the morning because it makes everything taste weird," she asserted.

"A dentist told me that you shouldn't brush your teeth right after eating either because you apparently circulate the food into your teeth, which is bad for them."

Because she usually just snacks all day, there's never a good time to grab her toothbrush and brush her teeth.

Then, when it comes to cleaning her dishes, she only uses water and no soap. She also doesn't make her bed and is extremely frugal when it comes to washing detergent, given that it's a rather pricey product.

"So I wouldn't say I'm opposed to soap, toothpaste, and detergent because I'm a hippy, but maybe deep down, inside my soul, I'm just a hippy," Annabel said at the end of her video.

The revelation that Annabel made regarding her way of life caused many of her viewers to share their own unconventional points of view.

Some people have reacted by claiming that they, too, are doing "very much the same" as she is, while others have raised their concerns saying that they are doing the "exact opposite."

In the comments, Annabel stated that she is "far more civilised" when she lives with others.

I actually noticed that my skin suffers from daily showers. It s getting too dry and itchy. So now, since I m semi-retired, I only have a shower on the days I work. Skin looks and feels better, my wallet is happy, and so am I. (Having a shower every 2 or 3 days I believe is enough, as long as you dont work up a sweat or do gardening or so...) I have to say, though, that on the days without shower I have a "top and tail" and still brush my teeth....

COVID is the excuse people use for everything that they don't want do.
Each reply has the conotation that people are only showering, brushing teeth and washing hair because they are going to see someone else, thereby making them acceptable to another person.
Well, I say GROW UP and just be the best you can FOR YOU.
If you have to worry about satisfying someone else first, then you have very little pride in yourself.

I call it a lack of hygiene. Nothing like feeling that your body, hair, and mouth is clean.
And by the way, the girl that the article talks about, doesn’t look like she doesn’t wash her hair nor does she look like a slob. I wonder if she‘s just looking for a moment of attention with her tik tok video 🤷🏻‍♀️

Each to their own I guess but I can't sleep at night unless I have a very hot shower, always wash my hair when it starts to feel greasy and I wouldn't be able to handle the stink of my own breath if I didn't brush my teeth every day. Her hygiene habits obviously explain why no one wants to be around her and why she is single.
