Still have my daughters when she started school in 1972, l keep gift wrap and spare birthday cards in it

I didn't need one in Primary school, but I had the ubiquitous Globite when I started High School.

Yes not only do I have one but multiple different sizes ranging from kindergarten which belonged to myself and my siblings.
They are still great for storage and you even find them in antique shops.

My port had gone through 2 generations. It finally fell apart by grade 7. It had been painted patched with stickers.

yes and it was heavy with school books. No one worried about posture or strain on the arms or back then. Long before the back pack became normal.
