Savvy DIYer shows how to make a $1490 coffee table for just $100 – get the designer look for less!

A thrifty woman was able to transform items from Kmart and Bunnings into a near-perfect replica of a contemporary coffee table for just under one hundred dollars.

Samantha Milne is an interior designer who is well-known for her home styling and do-it-yourself (DIY) tips online.

In one of her most recent posts on social media, she explained that she has had her eye on a Globewest coffee table, but she wasn't a fan of the $1,490 price tag.

Therefore, she put her skills in crafting to the test and figured out a way to make a similar version using two items that she purchased from Bunnings and Kmart.

"You guys already know how much I love a quick and easy DIY project, and this coffee table was no exception," she wrote in a post on Instagram.

In order to create an exact replica of the highly sought-after Globewest coffee table, Samantha used the legs from a coffee table that she purchased from Kmart and attached them to a tabletop that she bought from Bunnings.

The steps that Samantha took to make the DIY coffee table are as follows, and we bet that you will be surprised at how simple and uncomplicated it is!

To begin, Samantha placed a pencil mark in the middle of the terrazzo table top and traced a triangle that measured 15 centimetres around the centre.

Following that, she removed the legs from the Finn coffee table that she bought from Kmart. After that, she attached the legs to the underside of the tabletop that she had purchased from Bunnings by using some glue called Selleys Hold Up.

And with that, her modern coffee table is finished and ready for use!

The avid DIYer claimed that the entire process took her no more than 10 minutes and cost her just under $100, as opposed to $1,490 if she had purchased the designer table instead.

Samantha's post garnered the attention and praise of hundreds of other Aussies who share her passion for crafting, many of whom complimented her on the ingenious and inventive do-it-yourself project.

Someone even complimented her by saying that her work looks "even better" than the original – what high praise!

"Omg, I love this!!" wrote another person, while a third added, "I absolutely love your style, and this table is incredible!"

Others shared that they were thrilled and are looking forward to giving it a shot, perhaps over the course of the upcoming weekend. Samantha encouraged them and replied, "It's honestly super easy, you can do it!"

Are you also thinking about giving this do-it-yourself project a shot, members? Because we most certainly are!

I have no use for yet another coffee table but I must admit that her effort look really good, almost indistinguishable from the more expensive one.:)
