Sam Frost is now fully-vaxxed, co-star says the actress will most likely return to Home and Away

In a surprising turn of events, new reports have emerged about Home and Away actress Sam Frost's return to the long-running soap after it was confirmed that she is now fully vaccinated.

Just less than two months since the actress announced her departure from the program, Sam is now rumoured to be making a comeback after her former co-star Lynne McGranger — who plays the role of Irene Roberts on the soap — shared that Sam is planning to return to TV.

Speaking with Nova 96.9's Fitzy and Wippa on Monday morning, the 68-year-old actress revealed that Sam was "very much open" to reprise her role in the series.

"[Sam] spoke to me, can I just say the door is not closed, it's very much an open door," she said.

Lynne also admitted that "some issues" with regards to Sam's vaccination status may have prompted her to quit the show. However, she confirmed that Sam had since taken two jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine.

It should be noted that the 32-year-old — who played the role of Jasmine Delaney — had made headlines last year following her controversial COVID-19 vaccination stance.

Lynne said: "There were some issues of course with getting vaccinated but I’m here to tell you she is double vaccinated now, possibly boosted as well."

It was also reported that Sam announced that she will be quitting her role and will move back to Melbourne from Sydney to reunite with her family.

Additionally, she shocked fans after she posted a subtle dig at the series, sharing a satirical take on the show's plot.

While Lynne confirmed that this was indeed Sam's reason for quitting, the Home and Away producers had let Sam know that they would love to have her back should she decide to return to the show.

"She missed her family, I can’t speak for Sam but she really missed her family down in Melbourne and that’s where she needed to be. She’s never made a secret of the fact that she does struggle with her anxiety, which is out there and is a great thing to make public, but she needed to be with her family," the 68-year-old said.

Lynne added that the producers are currently "in negotiations" with Sam and that the actress is in a "really good place" at the moment, so it is more likely that she will reprise her role as nurse Jasmine.
