Sage aids menopause hot flashes

This plant with long green leaves, sage (Salvia officinalis) can be used in a number of situations. Here are 12 of them.
1) It reduces hot flashes
Sage is loaded with benefits for women going through menopause. Indeed, it helps fight against one of the main drawbacks of this period: hot flashes.
During menopause, the ovaries stop functioning, causing a drop in estrogen in the body. This drop causes hormonal imbalance, which gives rise to hot flashes. However, sage contains phytoestrogens, which compensate for the drop to regain a certain balance. Thanks to this, sage helps to reduce the frequency of hot flashes, but also to limit the intensity.
For this, you just need to prepare an infusion of the fresh or dry leaves of sage and drink regularly.
2) It fights excessive sweating
Thanks to the ursolic acid it contains, it can indeed regulate sweating.
For this, you can drink one infusion per day or even decide to bathe in it! Indeed, it is possible to prepare a sage bath by following the same principle as the infusion.
3) It helps digestion
Sage plays a big role in digestion. First of all, it helps digestion after a meal, especially when it has been too heavy. But that's not all.
Thanks to its antispasmodic properties, sage also helps relieve stomach cramps and bloating. In addition, it decreases intestinal gas.
For all this, you just need to drink an infusion of sage after a meal, or when your pains appear.
4) It calms sore throats
Thanks to its astringent, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, sage is very effective in relieving sore throats. It significantly reduces inflammation in the throat, but it also helps strengthen the immune system.
There are two ways to relieve a sore throat with sage. The first is to drink it as an infusion. The second is to gargle it, making your own mouthwash. In this case, add a few drops of vinegar to your sage infusion and rinse your mouth with it before spitting it out.
5) She participates in oral hygiene
Besides the throat, sage is also very good for the mouth in general, and more particularly for its hygiene. Thus, it fights against the bacteria that cause dental plaque and attack the gums.
In addition, sage has the power to whiten teeth, and you will find many toothpastes that contain it. But if you want to use sage in its natural form, you can - just rub some fresh leaves on your teeth.
6) It promotes healing
Thanks to its antiseptic properties, sage is also very effective on wounds, whether it is a small wound or a cut of any kind.
To take advantage of its healing properties, take some fresh sage leaves. Then, after cleaning the wound with soap and water and drying it, simply lay the leaves on the wound. Cover everything with a bandage, and change it every day.
7) It relieves insect bites
On the skin, sage also helps relieve itching and pain caused by insect bites. For this, take some fresh sage leaves and rub them on the sting.
8) It is good for the memory
Sage helps boost short term memory. For example, this is very practical before taking an exam, especially since it also helps reduce stress.
But that's not all. If taken daily, sage would also help fight Alzheimer's. Indeed, a study has shown that a sage cure slightly improves memory in patients with Alzheimer's disease.
9) It relieves pharyngitis
Thanks to its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, sage helps relieve pain caused by pharyngitis by fighting inflammation of the throat and pharynx.
All you need to do is prepare a sage infusion and use it as a gargle once it has become lukewarm. Repeat several times a day.

Sage is another Mediterranean herb that needs a full sun position and doesn't like summer humidity or wet feet. Good drainage and air circulation are essential to keep plants healthy. Sage is often grown in pots, especial in humid coastal regions, where it performs well due to the extra drainage and air flow.
Does not like clay soil or wet feet

Sage prefers a warm, sheltered position in full sun, but will also grow well in light or dappled sage, although the flavour isn't as strong. It needs a relatively fertile, moist, well-drained soil.
The same with basil..so a well drained pot is good make sure it does not dry out
