Safety Warning: Two items were recalled due to potential risks
- Replies 4
We here at Seniors Discount Club know all too well why it's important to stay informed and vigilant when it comes to the safety of the items we consume and use at home.
It's true that most of the things we purchase are safe and reliable, but as we get older, it pays to keep our eyes and ears open as to what's going on in the market because sometimes things don't quite meet safety standards.
That's why we're bringing you news of two recent recalls conducted by two separate bodies, both due to potential safety risks: an alcoholic beverage and a piece of outdoor furniture.
The first is a beverage called Counter Culture Eirinn Irish Cream Stout which was sold in-store and online nationally.
It is being recalled due to the presence of an undeclared ingredient – milk – that has the potential to cause an allergic reaction in certain individuals.
This particular product has a best-before date up to and including 16/08/23, and has been available to purchase both in-store and online at bottle shops and retail outlets in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
If you have purchased this beverage and happen to have a milk allergy or intolerance, you should not consume the product and instead return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Stone & Wood can be contacted via (02) 6685 5173 or [email protected] for more information.
The other item recently recalled is the Nest Swing Egg Chairs, sold nationally at T.K. Maxx stores due to a design defect posing a 'fall hazard'.
Product Safety Australia (PSA) issued the recall this week for the products sold from 28/08/2020 to 30/12/2022.
The recalled chairs come in multiple colours and styles and the style numbers are PMK-6501, PMK-6503, PMK-6505, PMK-6507 and PMK-6510. You'll be able to locate the style number by looking at the tag attached to the egg chair.
If you happen to have bought one of these chairs, it's important you immediately stop using the egg chair and return it to T.K. Maxx stores for a full refund, or contact TJX Australia for instructions on dismantling or disposing of the chair and how to receive a full refund from them.
You can call 1300 768 913 or email [email protected] for further information.
Members, if you know someone who has purchased either of these items, then make sure that you spread the word – no one should be put at risk due to a faulty product.
It pays to be vigilant when it comes to product recalls, especially when it comes to items that can potentially cause allergic reactions or physical harm.
That's all for this product recall alert, members. Be sure to keep us posted if anything similar pops up in the news!
