Roast pork belly

Delicious pork roast cooked by my son in law. Rub the skin of a rolled pork belly piece with five spice and place in slow cooker with 1/2 litre stock and some small onions. Cook overnight. Remove in the morning (keep juices and onions aside) and put in the refrigerator to dry out and become solid enough to cut in 2cm slices. Thread slices on skewers to keep them standing up and place in baking dish and baste with maple syrup. Place in very hot oven and cook for 20 to 30 mins, basting several times. Serve with baked vegetables, steamed green vegetables, saved onions and gravy made with the reserved juices and juices from roasting pan. Enjoy.
