If you've been on the lookout for a way to bond with your grandkids, we've got you covered. Making doughnuts can be a little tricky but it doesn't have to be with this unique alternative: Rice Pop Doughnuts! They are perfect as a snack or dessert. You can opt to add just about any toppings you'd like and let your grandkid's creative juices flow.
Here's what you need to make it:
1. 200 grams of dark, milk, or white chocolate, chopped
2. 25 grams of butter, plus extra for the moulds
3. Two tablespoons of syrup or honey
4. Two tablespoons of milk
5. 80 grams of rice pop cereal
6. 100 grams of white chocolate for decorating
7. 100s and 1000s or lollies for decorating
Start by buttering a tray of doughnut moulds before gently melting the chocolate, butter, syrup, and milk together in a bowl. Place it on top of simmering water, or pop it in a microwave and heat it up in short blasts, stirring between each blast.
Then, take the chocolate off the heat and mix it into the rice pops. Make sure they are fully coated in the mixture.
Spoon the rice pops onto the doughnut mould and press the mixture down firmly so it fills any gaps. Leave the mixture to cool.
Once the mixture is set, melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the doughnuts. You can add just about anything you please from here, including 100s and 100s, or lollies.
