Revenge Goals: See how one Aussie gardener got the ultimate payback for a driver's maddening parking antics!

In the land down under, where the sun scorches the earth and the grass is a symbol of suburban pride, a tale of turf and retribution unfolds. For many Australians, a well-manicured lawn is not just a patch of greenery; it's a canvas of personal achievement, a testament to the dedication and care poured into every blade of grass. So, when a Melbourne gardener discovered that an inconsiderate driver had parked on the edge of his cherished lawn, it was more than just a minor inconvenience—it was a call to arms.

The grass guardian, whose efforts had turned his lawn into a verdant paradise, was understandably irked by the sight of tire tracks threatening to mar his masterpiece. The 'double wheel man,' as the gardener dubbed the unknown driver, had unwittingly sparked a green-thumbed vengeance.

'Thanks very much, man, I appreciate it. Exactly what the lawn needed after a scalp, two tonnes on it,' the Melbourne man sarcastically remarked. His lawn, freshly scalped, was now bearing the weight of an unwelcome steel beast. But rather than stew in silent frustration, the gardener decided to mow his lawns in the driver's 'honour,' with a twist.

As the engine of his mower roared to life, the gardener embarked on a mission of retribution, steering his grass-cutting chariot perilously close to the offending vehicle. With each pass, clippings and debris were flung towards the car, a symbolic gesture of defiance against the careless parking act.

The driver, it seems, had parked on the grass to allow more room for other vehicles to navigate the quiet residential street. However, the gardener was quick to point out that the road was already amply wide, and the driver's decision had achieved nothing but the desecration of his lawn.

'There's not much that s**ts me more than this in life,' the lawn lover declared, his frustration palpable.

Nathan Stafford, a professional gardener, empathized with the Melbourne man's plight, acknowledging the Herculean effort required to cultivate such a pristine lawn in the harsh Australian climate. '100 per cent if this was your lawn, you're not going to be happy because it leaves marks on the grass,' he said. 'I get his side, you spend a lot of energy to get it like that.'

Yet, while Nathan understood the gardener's vexation, he cautioned against such vengeful tactics, wary of the potential for escalation and even more undesirable consequences. Instead, he suggested a more diplomatic approach: leaving a polite note requesting that the driver refrain from parking on the grass in the future.

'We take pride in what we do, and it's our home,' Nathan remarked, highlighting the personal connection many Australians feel towards their lawns.

Geez he never scratched the car once with the lawn mower. Also didn’t spew anything onto the car because he had the catcher on. Even the side view mirror wasn’t hit by the handle of the mower. The gardener was too kind.
Needs to invest in a brush cutter with a blade to do the edging against the gutter.

I have had this issue, but (1) the cars were driving over and destroying the reticulation sprinklers. (2) My verge is on a single lane, narrowed section of the street, but because I have a shady tree, people believe it's their right to park on my verge.
One time I came home to this just pushed my buttons too far, so I firstly put hose onto car and then gathered up all the tree droppings and thew over the car. The damp made sure it stuck. Enough is enough, and it's the narrowing more of the single section of road that makes it worse.
Now I have wooden stakes and rope along the border of the verge, the rangers have seen it, and are not bothered. It doesn't stop the parking in that spot, but at least they're not driving over my Retic.

Pretty sure the grass outside the footpath doesn't belong to the householder anyway.
correct (usually). however, even though it's owned by 'council', the resident is expected to maintain it anyway. the alternative would be council having their people do it, and having to put the rates up. so either, the residents pay - even renters, as increased rates would lead to increase rents.

I think a polite note would have been sufficient. If you end up scratching the car paint work on the car you could be up for a lot more trouble than just a dampened lawn strip. If the car owner goes to his insurance company with proof you deliberately damaged their car, then the police and or the insurance company comes after you.
