REVEALED: The date for Big W's massive Toy Mania is almost here!

There is no doubt that grandparents want to dote on their grandchildren in any and every way they can. That’s part of the job description, right? And what better way to do so than to give the young ones a fun gift they are sure to enjoy for a long time!

Truly, there's nothing quite like seeing the joy on your grandchild's face when they open up a present from you, and that's you shouldn't pass up this opportunity.

Big W is giving customers a sneak peek at Australia's most anticipated toy sale of the year, and they say it's going to be bigger and better than it's ever been before!

Every year, Toy Mania draws huge crowds, with thousands of shoppers lining up at the crack of dawn just to get the best deals, with parents and grandparents everywhere loading up their shopping carts with gifts for the youngsters.

This year will be no different, as the retailer plans to begin the sale online at seven in the morning on Tuesday, June 14, followed by the launch of the sale in stores on Thursday, June 16.

Shoppers can anticipate huge savings across more than 1,300 toys, with prices cut by up to 50 per cent on some of the most popular toys available on the market. These toys include nostalgic '90 years of play' Lego sets and Barbie's jet plane, amongst others.

Big W also anticipates a high demand for the new Jurassic Park line and has reduced the price of the 'Extreme Damage T-Rex' from $39 to $16.

The retailer offers payment options such as Afterpay and Zip Pay, in addition to the chance to earn Everyday Rewards points, to assist families in managing their spending budgets.

This is especially useful during the holiday season, especially for those planning a months-ahead toy shopping spree before Christmas or New Year's.

When this sale has been held in previous years, there has been a massive amount of people rushing to purchase toys because most adults are eager to reduce the cost of their holiday expenses without having to 'sacrifice' the quality or quantity of their children's presents.

In the past, customers have reported seeing parents dragging heavily laden shopping carts through the store after stocking up on the hottest toys of the year.

If this type of shopping experience does not appeal to you, Big W also provides online ordering, delivery, contactless pickup, and direct to boot services.

Some grandparents enjoy giving their grandkids toys, but there are many other thoughtful gifts they can give. Here are a few ideas:
  • A family tree or album - This can help kids learn about their ancestors and feel connected to their family history.
  • A special book - Whether it’s a classic tale or a new favourite, a book can be a cherished gift that lasts for years. You can even grab them for free!
  • A unique piece of jewellery - This could be a ring, necklace, or bracelet. It’s a way to give a gift that can be worn and treasured.
  • A gift certificate to a special place - This could be a restaurant, a movie theatre, or a place that has meaning to the family. It’s a way to give an experience rather than a material item.
  • A donation to a charity - This can be in honour of the grandchild or in memory of a loved one. It’s a way to teach kids the importance of giving back.
Happy gift giving, members!

I wonder how many people will put themselves into some kind of financial strain just because they are scared their kids will miss out. I don't think, in this day and age, these Companies are being responsible. Can they not read the atmosphere in the room?:(

The toy industry has gained too much influence on children over the past few years. It's not for me to judge how good or bad this is, but overconsumption remains one of the severe problems of humanity. It is necessary to teach children to choose the toys they want to play with rationally. I love toys and sometimes buy myself figurines with my favorite characters on visualst.ca. However, children are hammered into the idea that if parents do not give them toys and the road, they do not like them. I think this is the wrong marketing message that toy companies are formulating.
