Microwaves are considered a staple in every Aussie home. It makes heating leftover food easy and makes delicious quick meals. But the one thing no one actually wants to do is clean it, especially if it looks like a little food bomb exploded in it.

Well, it turns out our wish has come true, according to Perth “Home Hacks Queen” Carolina McCauley, who shared her quick three-minute hack on TikTok, which leaves your microwave sparkling clean.

The cleaning hack uses two common household ingredients and lets the microwave do all the heavy work, which means no elbow grease required!

“In a microwave safe dish, add white vinegar and dish soap,” she said.

The mother of two is a strong advocate for avoiding chemical cleaners and promoting a more natural way to clean your home. She frequently uses white vinegar as a base for her cleaning concoctions.

“Place the container in the microwave - microwave for 3 minutes.

“Allow 5 minutes before you open.”

“The steam will loosen up any grime,” Carolina added as she removed the bowl from the rotating plate.

And the result? Her microwave was full of condensation, and as she gently slid a cloth across the grime, it effortlessly disappeared! Voila! A sparkling clean microwave.

Her video has racked up more than 33k views, with fans praising the hack and even requesting more tips on other electronic items they struggled with.

I clean mine with water and lemon juice..same principle.
 
I just put a bowl of water with a little detergent in it and into the microwave for 1 or 2 minutes and BINGO, easy to wipe out

to clean the Air Fryer, put some water with some dish washing detergent (enough to cover the basket base.and turn on for 10 minutes , wipe it out with a clean cloth.

The top microwave hack is to cover the dish/bowl/mug to prevent excessive mug!
