The Aldi Special Buys Trimat 4L washing liquid isn't half bad. I use this along with BioZet Essentials liquid. For the price $17.99 for 4L it's good idea to grab at least 1-2 bottles and utilise during the whole year.

I now 'always' stock up on their Trimat Washing Machine Cleaning Tablets $3.99 (8x tablets in packet). It does a good cleanse of the washing machine. If doing your washing machine cleanse first time ever, use 3 of the tablets and full hot wash cycle including the rinse cycle. Ensure that you clean out the filter before hand. When the washing machine is loaded with hot water and gone through about 5 minutes of the wash cycle, pause the machine and open the lid. Use the water in the tub to clean out the detergent & softener dispenser. Use an old tooth brush to help clean as well. and keep dipping into the tub water. Use paper towel and some tub water to also clean around the tub bowl and even outside of washing machine. Throw the paper towel into trash. Reclose the washing machine lid and press the pause button to re-start the washing machine. Again, ensure that the machine is full hot water and includes the full rinse cycle. Then 2 tablets and still use full hot water and full wash cycle thereafter.

When washing machine cycle finished, open the lid and clean out the lint container again to remove any residue collection. Leave the washing machine lid open and always do this after any wash as closing the lid will create mildew. Always let your washing machine dry out.

You washing machine and the extraction hose will be thoroughly cleansed. I redo a new cleanse after about every ten washes or there about. I always do a cleanse after pet items being laundered. Again, ensure filter cleaned out before cleansing and after cleansing.
