In the "real old days" I can remember buying records at Palings in George Street, Sydney and having them played through headphones to make sure they were OK before you left the shop.

My friend and I would listen to our favourites in the booth at the store.
Remember my older bro pre ordering his Beatles vinyl albums ,EPs and singles.
They must be worth a bit.He kept them in.mint condition.
Also you could listen in your own booth to make sure all was ok before you bought. It was so exciting getting them home. All the music from that era.I am 8 years younger than him but it made for my love for all music from that era today.Ahhh the memories
