Recall Alert: IKEA pulls a beloved product from its shelves days before Christmas

Attention, members!

Swedish furniture giant IKEA is recalling its 400g Daim Almondy Almond Cake over fears of contamination with an unspecified metal.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) says consuming the product may cause illness and/or injury.


Affected batches of the product have a best-before date of November 18, 2023.

The product is sold at IKEA stores in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Victoria, South Africa, and Western Australia.

Customers who purchased the product are advised to return the product to the place of purchase.

It is also recommended that those concerned about their health in relation to consuming the tainted cakes consult their doctors.

I remember many years ago, we found a metal piece in a pizza from Dominos. They couldn't care less when we spoke to them to warn them.
