Rawleighs Man
I came from the Eyre Peninsula in SA & I remember the excitement when the Rawleighs Man (as we called him) drove up in his van & we would go down to the gate to meet him & he’d open up his van to show his wares!
There was everything you could imagine from medical items to cooking products! Among many things, the 2 main acquisitions were Rawleighs ointment (for man & beast) & Rawleighs Menthol ointment!
Mum used to buy her food colourings, jellies, cream of Tartar, cochineal, cordials etc etc from the Rawleighs Man! It’s a wonderful memory to have of a simpler life!!!
