Random stranger helps UK woman with her front door dilemma

Painting your front door with a fresh new colour may not seem like a big renovation move, but this can actually give your home exterior an instant facelift.
Not to mention, a new coat of paint on your front door gives your entire property an added ‘curb appeal’ and makes coming home a much more delightful experience.
That is why there can be a lot of pressure sometimes when it comes to choosing the right shade or hue for your home’s front door.
Does the shade go along well with the colour of the walls? Does it stand out too much? Or do you want it to give contrast to the house’s colour palette? Should you just stick to the traditional wooden colour instead?
There are just so many things to consider!
Well, one woman from the UK had the same dilemma.
Elizabeth Pocklington, a teacher who lives in Nottingham, decided that her home was in need of some minor touch-up, so she wanted to paint over her front door. However, she was having trouble deciding what colour to choose.
So to check on what colour goes best with her door, she painted swatches on the black front door. Her choices included: three different shades of green, pale pink, and beige.
She left the paint swatches on her front door to dry so she could later decide on which colour to choose.

One day, Elizabeth came home from work and was surprised to find something she never would have expected from a total stranger.
Turns out, her local postal worker wrote her a letter, with a note that read: “Second green up from the bottom looks best.”
And even though she was overjoyed to receive a suggestion from someone she didn’t know, let alone from a postie who are considered “door experts”, the colour advice arrived a bit too late.
Elizabeth admitted that she had already decided to go for the beige shade, and she had already ordered the paint about a week and a half ago.
But still, she was extremely grateful for the suggestion. So much so that she even nearly cancelled her order just to go with the postie’s advice.
Several users who followed Elizabeth’s story, which has gone viral since then on Twitter, said they loved this random act of kindness from the postal worker. Others even gave their own suggestions on which colour to choose.
