That's a Ford Anglia with a UK number plate. I never recalled seeing one of those tails in Australia. Maybe I was too young?

Putting them on a car in Australia now would be illegal. it is a distraction.
You're not even allowed to have tinsel on your ordinary bumper bar or a special bar on a 4WD or truck.
I heard about a driver being told to remove one immediately. He wanted to go a few km to buy some scissors to remove it properly, He was told if he moved it he would be fined immediately.
